Unit 9 - Developing performance and production skill

From the start of my journey at SRC I've changed an immense amount as a actor, performer and overall as a person coming into such a new place where I could be myself and achieve what I wanted without feeling conscious of being judged by others or there opinions like secondary school. When I first entered this place I was excited and nervous at the same time being in such a open and energetic environment made me go back into my shell and I tended to just prefer to stay quiet and not be recognised, The apprehensive feeling of knowing I could be getting judged and I didn't wanna look stupid made me hold myself back in terms of potential. Over the span of September I settled and got to know my classmates and peers I made friendships with like-minded people and began to feel more at ease and able to be myself. We begun getting ready for our first show and the first show I would do "the Ghost Light Tours". This show was such a confidence booster and was the starting point of my journey. I was part of the vaudeville show and played the role of El Diablo along with my puppet/partner La Maria who was played by Emily Spense together we took rehearsal time and both worked on figuring out how to block it. My objective of this performance was to put on our first show and show my skills. displaying our basic understanding of a character as this was my first show, I didn't have the current experience and criteria I would follow up with when rehearsing so most of it was just rehearsing lines and going over them, I never payed much attention to character research or the dynamics of playing such a character. It was very much improvised from the lines to physicality and movement. It was a challenging and fun experience non the less. From learning how to play such a character to even just performing on stage for the first time. Each bit was a learning experience and helped me set aims for my next show such as clarity of voice and having better diction, embracing the space around me, character research and having better artistic choices. Providing the basic fundamentals in upcoming shows and even in present shows where I use the key stepping stones. Contrary to the cons I had good emphasis on what costume and props where needed I made a list with my crew and we got all the props and costumes. My performance was rather lack-full in props and my piece was more focused on our duologues and delivering them as well as possible. However for costumed we went for something very formal and dapper but also prioritising the fact that it was based in the pre war era and my piece was very ventriloquist like so I wore a full out tuxedo with a top hat and had my face pained a ghastly white which really induced the whole paranormal feeling and my partner wore a doll-like dress and had blood coming out of her eyes and mouth with a ghastly undertone white on her face like mine. Personal goals I had set was to just overall have better fundamentals and character depth and research and really push myself in terms of performance goals and in depth analysis  when it came to using the space and having better physicality, movement and overall ensemble dynamics. Moving forward from this show gave me so much more confidence and self esteem moving into the next term as it showed I had the potential and it was the start of an incredible journey at SRC. I begin feeling less on edge when it came to acting games in the class or performing scenes in-front of them all I was very much moved to do more in myself and push myself even more as I was so proud of overcoming such a barrier of being more quiet and reserved and really going on stage and making the effort to do my first show and show my skills. Moving forward we begin focusing on more screen acting with Kane as he taught us some days for the first year we got to see how the screen and fav world works and the big difference between film and TV and stage. From the acting techniques used and taught to the formation of it all to learning how to record self tapes and mesmerise lines. One of our key tasks and homework given was to choose a monologue from a famous speech from a film or TV show and perform that monologue in front of our class/audience I choose the monologue from inglorious bastards which was a very in depth, gritty and edgy monologue. I really analysed how Hans Landa (the character who performs the monologue) delivered his lines which where so in depth and stretched out yet so suspenseful and edging. Upon rehearsals I had to maintain a constant energy of delivering my lines while also keeping the audience engaged. I put heavy emphasis on the suspense and that encapsulated the monologue so well. I saw my objective as trying to make the audience see my character ideology but also seeing how demented and cruel he is and how he’s so calm when speaking in such a vile way. Showing how he’s almost a psychotic and twisted character. When I performed it I made sure to focus my point onto one the imaginary person as in the scene he speaks to one man only so I spoke to an imaginary character. I felt happy performing a monologue for the first time although it was a bit of a shaky experience as it was my first time I felt I handled it well and my acting comprehension and confidence as a actor had improved heavily. Towards the end of November we started looking at Christmas films we could audition for and everyone got given a A3 piece of paper in a group and we had to note down potential Christmas themes, movies and overall what you’d expect to see the collaborative task opened our minds and showed us potential Christmas shows. Although interested I really wanted to have another go at stage as my interest to it begun to grew stronger and my confidence in performing in front of so many people grew and I enjoyed the feeling from my first ever show. The feeling for the adrenaline and applause gave me a sense of gratification. Shortly after we met Tom who over the next span of 2 years helped us alongside Kelly. We were introduced to the Muppets Scrooge song which we begun learning for a mini collaborative SRC show in the globe with many other acting schools and classes. This was our first attempt at singing and overall our second time working in the globe alongside each other. We learnt different monotones and begun getting more confident in speech and singing. There was the role of Scrooge and the main lead singers and then just extras who played the peasants alongside the rest. As I was not a confident singer at that time I choose to be alongside the rest of the peasants by playing a extra background character. However the collaboration is what was most key in this performance as it really shaped everything together and brought magic out of it all. Throughout rehearsals we just did constant repetition of the song till we became fully confident and familiar with it all. Then we begin adding movement around Scrooge showing our despair and fright from him combining singing with movement gave the choreography such depth and really made it come to life rather than just being still and singing. As a peasant character I had to dress very ragged and Victorian wearing a ripped and coal covered button up with some black baggy pants and work shoes. The outfit was perfect for this performance as it showed my character and brought him to life. Upon the day of the performance we did constant rehearsals making sure to smooth it all out and polish any gaps. The performance went well and I was pleased with the way we all worked together and tackled the singing. Personally, I was so happy that I got the experience to sing and demonstrate improvement of skills and push beyond and really try something new such as singing. I improved so much from being nervous to singing on stage as a collaboration in just 2 months setting even higher aims with each performance which was key for exponential growth.

Shortly after we got ready for Wizard of Oz in which I rehearsed for The King of Flying Monkeys. It was quite a playful and silly-like role incorporating animalistic behaviour and speech into a broad scene where physicality stood out the most. For auctions I however was unaware of the animalistic almost barbaric nature of the king of monkeys so I played it as if I where royalty as king was in the name of the character. I went into rehearsals with a posh and uptight physicality and movement as well as speech which I feel like pushed my away from getting the role as I did the opposite however I gained the role of a normal flying monkey with at least some lines. If I had focused on the bigger picture of them being monkeys rather than a human-like king I think I would’ve done better in rehearsals but due to getting a different interpretation it set me back. Moving on with rehearsals was so fun playing such a silly and funny character and having to embarrass myself made me feel so much more free cause I could be silly and get away with it. My overall objective and goals for this performance was too shine and show my growth and new skills as a actor and really push myself and challenge myself by playing a dynamic and funny and daring character such as the flying monkey which pushed me out of my comfort zone to Seek novel challenges unlike those encountered previously. which helped so much in boosting me as a actor and really allowed me to meet my objectives and goals well. I felt my characters motivation where to be a sycophant towards the wicked witch and my superiors as I wanted to please them and constantly be favoured. As well as this my character collaborated with the rest of the gang but harboured disdain for those who were virtuous and or opposite to himself. As due to him being a monkey he was savage and mischievous. The overall theme was to show the selfish and maniac behaviour of the monkeys pushing there crazy and wild attitude out there showing how they’re animalistic and or docile and stupid in a sense. This was shown throughout he maniac behaviour and attitude. My intended impact on the audience was to induce a sense of stupidity but slyness and wildness from my character, jumping around being crazy and really being monkey-like and destructive. Overall my intended impact was to work as a union to showcase the wild and cruel flying monkey gang which was a key factor in this show as it made it more funny and alive. For emotional engagement the monkeys where just very angry and aggressive characters they where rough with handling others and there behaviours, they where energetic and cause a ruckus around them and  where just a nuisance to everyone and everything around them. As learnt from previous performances I had to be better with diction and projection of volume and tone so my monkey like accent and delivery of lines was something I worked on and really nailed it down having such a strong delivery of lines and accent made the audience feel a much stronger engagement to the show and really blended everything well together capturing the key crazy moments of the monkeys. Alongside this my general vocal performance was much better and I took notice of what I’ve learnt and used that to really improve and make myself more clear and in depth with my character. Physicality and movement were a key role in this performance from jumping around and swinging like monkeys to jumping around when excited to showing psychical frustration it was so key in showing that we were monkeys not just delivering some lines in a monkey tone. I was able to really use my whole space aswell as it was a wide open stage allowing me to really explore and get a feel and blend into the set and picture myself there and shut off getting into the monkey mindset. Ensemble dynamics where also so key and important as we worked together to make sure we had the correct ques when to enter and when to move on to stage. Moving around in a choreographed sequence was so helpful to avoid accidents as we where quite manic and sudden in our movements so choreographing it helped tremendously. Costumed and props where very fun getting together the costumes where a purple and red robe with fez hat and we had our face painted to a monkey like standard together it looked so funny and really brought the realistic side out of it for props I used a chain to lock the lion up which I raised the idea of using as I wanted to be inclusive when it came to deciding to use props. For artistic choices we choose to maintain what was in the script however we made our lines very broken and badly pronounced for artistic purposes which gave more in depth to our character and was so great for character research. My strengths from this was the fact I acquired using character research and analysis and really looked into monkey behaviour and movement to help me  push my skills and worked collaboratively, used the space around me and took full advantage of everything and physicality. I could’ve improved on being more energetic and putting more energy into my  physicality and really fully getting out of my head.

Moving forward from wizard of oz we begun focusing on connections straight away. I went for the role of Kobi who was a religious peacemaker in the friend group but nonetheless I was given Mr Emre which I was already glad about as I felt confident from the previous performances to tackle whatever comes my way as I’ve improved so much in a short amount of time.

My objective as Mr Emre was to be a parental figure towards Zafar and Stefi who are my both my children in the piece. My new goals where to do more in depth with character research and really get into there headspace by method acting. Every morning I would go over lines and go throughout my morning routine in the character headspace and mannerisms. Mr emre’s motivations where to supply and be an important source of parental security towards his kids however his priority for his kebab shop overlooked that and his entire life was mainly based on it. Vocal performance was on point this show, range of clarity was key and my diction was on point and Mr Emre was a very dominant  and angry character so this really helped getting the point across. This was such a big improvement from Wizard of Oz as my vocal performance was so much better. Emotional engagement in my opinion was reached in very heated scenes and me and the other characters bounced very well of each other overall this show I felt a more stronger in depth connection with my own character and others due to self reflection and consistent practice and rehearsing and method acting. My physicality and movement was fine not much was needed as u was stood behind a till but the little intricate movements definitely brought it all alight. Like said before ensemble dynamics flowed amazing. From the start we rehearsed constantly with one another and begun just getting comfortable not only with one another but also being able to bond connections in our characters. We played many chemistry games and took time to rehearse with each other this helped so much as when it came to the day of performing it all went so well and it all blended together from the relationship with Stefi and Zafar to the hatred for there friends it all went amazing. For costume and prop I just had too dress casually as compare to the last show which was heavy costume and makeup. I wore a plain shirt and jeans some sneakers and a cooking apron alongside with cans and food boxes for props. For artistic choices I decided to make my character have more authority and be angry as he is constantly running errands and is always stressed running around for his shop and kids. Some strengths I identified is that my vocal performance improved so much more for this show having clear diction and pronunciation and vocal pitch and tone made me feel so much more happier as my lines where effectively said and it made the overall emotional enhancement and engagement so much more better. Feedback from peers including tutors all said that I’ve been constantly getting better with every performance showing more confidence and improvement each time my vocal performance too was heavily appointed as good.

This rest of this term was focused on self improvement and improving our methodology as an actor and our skills. Doing assignments such as researching into different practitioners I choose to research into “Jaques Lecoq”. Most of this term helped me develop better understanding when playing characters and being more able to get into a characters headspace. As this was our last term before our prep for our end of year shows we used this time for polishing out anything which may have needed to in terms of written work aswell. Moving on with our end of year shows we did two Little women and Last resort.

For little women I played Fred Vaughn the objective was to play a much more sophisticated Character than the rest by portraying a sense of snobbiness and up tightness. My main objective, additionally, was to be little the other characters and make my self seem superior to the rest. The overall theme of this performance was to demonstrate the unfair behaviour of Fred I’m sure the Hoover and downright cruel behaviour of him, playing such an intelligent yet horrible character was is new to me, as I was used to playing more supportive or animalistic or parental roles. Moving forward with this I used all the knowledge gained from previous shows and overall information taught in lessons to progress with my skills and portrayal of Fred. My character really had a lack of emotion, as he was just very uptight and rude. Emotional began  really just mattered on being as rude to those around me as possible I demonstrated this by body language is presenting myself as cocky. I used the knowledge to get into the headspace of my character to help me develop these ideas. By increasing my understanding by doing character research I was able to grasp this portrayal better unlike any previous shows where, when there was a challenge which presented itself in portraying a much more vivid or complex scenarios or emotion I tended to lack and step back. For vocal performance, I had to change my accent into a much more posh Victorian accent it was hard at the start, but with consistent practice and dedication I was able to crack it. However, compared to previous shows pronunciation and proper diction did become a bit hard as I was having to change my accent. So I had to adjust but nonetheless it came out well. Demonstrating physicality and movement was really just about having good posture and standing in a clear view and speaking as all my lines I had to stand still. Ensemble dynamics went great as compared to most shows. For costume, I wore a full suit with a under vest which was designed to be very Victorian-like additionally, for props, I had a gold cup in which I drank water out of. For artistic choices, I got most of my inspiration from the books and the movies Taking most of this inspiration, I created my character to be much more first class and snobby. Strengths for this show is I was being consistent with my growing improvement.

For Last resort I played the character of the father of the killjoys Wayne Killjoys. The objective of this character was just be a very fun and chav-like person. The theme was predominantly comedic. The overall vocal performance was very similar to Mr Emre I used a range of anger to show my character. For physicality I was mainly driving so I had to focus as if I was driving a car the new feel of being so experimental with my movement and physicality allowed me to really broaden my options in terms of Artistic choices as deciding my character to be full of road rage and very apprehensive and nervous. For costume I just had to wear something very suitable for a beach environment and for props I had a steering wheel and fake gun. For artistic choices, I decided to just maintain the scripts notions as I don’t wanna lose any comedic value. My overall strengths were that I was able to see such a good progress at the start of the year, I would never of done something so comedic and bold, but I took it my own hands to push myself further and remove boundaries.

Coming back after our summer holiday into the second year felt refreshing I felt confident to push even harder this year setting higher goals and pushing myself harder and further. Meeting the first years was great as we all got to know one another meeting who we would work with for the upcoming year. Getting ready for our next show which was similar to the ghost light tours.

I auditioned for the role of Jack the Ripper and I had to write my own monologue in the end there turned out to be three jack the rippers and we all got given our own monologues as our lines, moving forward it was such was a fun and enticing character my objective and goals for this performance was to challenge myself and push my skills and show how I’ve improved as a performer/actor and by understanding the characters motivations such as his ideology of him committing murders being a way of cleansing the streets and also just for sport. The overall theme was to show the insolent and gritty nature of Jack the Ripper and terrify and show the audience how ruthless and disturbing of a person Jack is. This was definitely shown throughout my sequence as my portrayal of him was so realistic and definitely showed throughout it all with the reactions of the crowd. Furthermore, I accessed emotional engagement by doing character research and really looking into Jack the Ripper and why and how he did what he did. This helped so much as the character research helped me develop myself into playing a much better Jack the Ripper by allowing me to convert the emotions much better in my performance throughout rehearsals I also took time by myself and with peers to assess my performance and go through it to see where and how I could improve this definitely helped as it allowed me to fit into a character much better knowing others are able to perceive me as Jack the Ripper. The peer advice helped me as it allowed me to connect to the audience on a emotional level, such as when I was angry and showing my passion for killing as Jack the Ripper this made the audience become in a sense of shock and fear and it emotionally connected well with the audience due to constant repetition during rehearsals and doing my own character research. Additionally, my character was a very angry cockney person so I had to make sure to have good diction, pronunciation, volume and pacing. This was a challenge at first considering I had to maintain a cockney accent throughout, nevertheless I got through it and it turned out amazing. I also did vocal warm ups and practised my lines in a cockney accent making sure to use good diction and pronunciation throughout this was vital as the angry and violent tone of Jack the Ripper was what made him who he is and showed the aggression in his voice so constant practise was key and undoubtedly helped a lot and showed when I finally performed and brought out  my character of Jack the Ripper. Furthermore, I made well use of physicality and movement in rehearsals we blocked out each sequence as the tea poisoning scene was in the bar where I was located so we used the space of the bar to set out where we would move the audience and where each actor would perform. We prepared this in rehearsals by using full advantage of the space we had it was easier in the bar as we had the set amount of space we could use. The audience would walk behind me and stop behind me.  I was sat at the bar tapping my cup which made the audience aware of my presence. The tour guides would then walk behind me in which I would stop the audience by making a loud bang with my cup which would grab there attention and make me the main centre of attention. I would use the space my audience would make from me out of fear and suspense to walk around and speak my story which would allow me to have room to be more snappy and practical with it. This enhanced my story telling as it made it seem more immersive and in there faces which added to the creepiness and physicality of it all. One of the biggest factors which added to the whole performance was my costume and props. For example, my costume I had was ragged , old and worn out pants and a shirt which was coated with fake blood all over and I wore black victorian work shoes this added to the gritty and downright vile nature of Jack the Ripper which gave a unsettling and off vibe about my character. As well as this I had a prop knife which I put fake blood on.The knife could also go in and out so I would snap it out when I’d begin to talk which would shake up my audience because they wouldn’t expect it and undoubtedly was one of the scariest things when matched with the bloody clothes. I also had a steel beer mug which had water in which I would drink at the bar in a angry and ruined state in the background of the other bar scenes giving a aura of mystery but a sense of dread in the audience once they'd be behind me I’d slam the cup which would instantly grab there attention. For my artistic choices of this I used my own written monologue which was in the script this was unique to me and was special as I could bring out the most rawest and authentic character of Jack the Ripper as it was self written meaning I didn’t have to adapt to another script. However, there were some areas from self assessing which needed improving on such as when my monologue would become quite dragged out and dull my character tended to show less hostility and fury and I felt I begun just saying the words rather than acting them out like Jack the Ripper. Lastly, I could’ve improved on having more clearer diction at the end due to when it began dragging I mumbled a few words which could’ve ruined the aspect of me being Jack the Ripper. Based on my self assessment some self set goals are that I must take more time to be confident in having clear diction in accents and maintaining character even in more dragged out lines or scenes. Some positive feedback from peers was that my acting abilities have massively improved and my overall confidence and projection as a actor has gotten better much much more. Some Tutor feedback was that my progress is going very well and my portrayal of Jack the Ripper was amazing and I’ve improved greatly from previous. Some feedback which I could improve on is that peers have told me my diction was a bit off at times but other than that was great. Moving forward from this I’ll be sure to take time and maintain character and diction. Aswell as embracing the positive feedback and being confident moving forward onto upcoming projects and shows.

After finishing such an amazing show. I was casted for the student music video Let it happen by tame impala” this was such a fun experience. Travelling to the beach to film and then back to college gave me the feel for how film and tv worked and I enjoyed with the crew demonstrating my film and tv acting skills for the first time and really having a good time seeing my hard work pay off. Quickly after we began moving quick onto our next show which is “Peter Pan” it was such a quick start as soon as we got back onto the following term we began making moves straight away. By researching into the script and already finding a character we would enjoy for extra research I watched peter Pan performances on the west end. Doing extra in depth research allowed me to get a head start and set me up in a secure spot where I could feel comfortable moving forward and getting ready for the next show. Knowing this was my last ever Christmas show at SRC was saddening but however I was so grateful contemplating my massive growth being such a shy, socially anxious and reserved person to flourishing in a dynamic environment and being able to truly feel free and able to really let go of the thought of others this helped so much with performing my shows in the second year and made me improve so much as actor and overall person. Moving forward with Peter Pan

I researched into Captain Hook and got ready going into my audition for him unfortunately I wasn’t fit for of Captain Hook however, I ended up getting Cecco which was still a character I was happy working with I just don’t think I had the correct characteristics for hook but Cecco is more of a character which I can be more open with how I play and present him unlike hook so I had more options to play with as I wasn’t set to a certain characteristic or style. Cecco was an Italian pirate his motivation was to be a pirate along side hook he’s a very playful yet shaken up character. Although, he may only have a few lines he makes quite a big impact with his big and bold accent and scared yet funny personality. His theme is a typical pirate who works part of hooks crew and his impact on the audience is meant to be different compared to the other pirates as he’s so unique. In rehearsals I made sure to show this by the shook like behaviour of being very shaky and paranoid all the while maintaining a suave yet unique approach. Peers watching could tell by the amazing Italian accent and the obliging yet fearful nature of when the lost boys and Peter Pan overtake the ship and hook forces Cecco to search the Cabin of the ship. I emotionally engaged others in my character by portraying how scared and fearful Cecco was yet showing how he implores to hook. In the lines “no captain no la Mia madre sempre midesse la con parle la stranieri ah mamma Mia.” I had to demonstrate my clear pronunciation and diction of speaking another language this was not as bad as I thought as I’m already multi lingual so I could easily adapt to this it was just a matter of having clear diction and pronunciation and pacing which made the biggest impact in showing the edginess and dread in Ceccos voice. I had taken the advice from previously in the ghost light tours so I was using it when speaking as Cecco this made me clear and gave me 100% more of a better sequence and rehearsals. Additionally, in rehearsals I took full advantage of physicality and manoeuvring around my space such as being more physical when speaking to Hook such as when he commanded me to check the cabin me  grasping onto his legs as a child would to there parents when in fear seeing him as a superior being. It was as if I was seeking protection in Hook but still remaining fearful and trying to convince him to let me off from searching the cabin. When moving towards the cabin I would walk slowly with my sword in between my hands shaking fully this indicated the intense dread and terror and as I got closer I slowed down then was being pushed towards the cabin by the other pirates when I tried running back off this was all improvisation which came from naturally becoming more confident in my acting abilities and exponentially growing and working as a collaboration more and communicating. We blocked this scene out by having us have the hostages in-front of the pirates and having each pirate go into the cabin till it was my turn. This gave me more ease in rehearsals as I wasn’t having to make up where I would stand. Some artistic choices I made was when reading the script I noticed Cecco was heavily begging and compromising the fact that the cabin is somewhere that is certain death so I showed this and pushed it out when I played Cecco in rehearsals. Unfortunately, I was unable to perform during the actual Show however the rehearsals where still an amazing  experience as it showed the key improvement of my acting ability and character research and depth and Cecco was such a different and quirky character that I enjoyed and displayed my improvement as a performer. Advice I received from peers was nevertheless good and same from my Tutors. How ever one key thing which I fixed straight away was that I started rushing my lines to a point where my scene went to fast and I needed to have slower pacing however this didn’t affect my diction or pronunciation of words even if some where in Italian showing that I learnt from ghost light tours and made positive change. I look forward to the future experiences where I can constantly improve and become a better actor.

Coming back after the winter holidays was such a hit in the face half of the year had gone past and I was heading towards the end of it all. Nonetheless, I still had a long journey ahead. We focused mainly on preparing for Uni I had been looking into many and had sorted my personal statement and applied. A few weeks after this we begun moving onto our next chalange in which we had our first work experience with an external theatre company and worked for the first time externally in our field. This was such an exciting opportunity as the main characters name “Zia” was inspired by me as told by a meme bet of the company and playing in such a show made me happy to be apart of the journey. Additionally, We read over the scripts first draft last year we get to see such a beautiful script and show finally being able to be put on the stage this was such a beautiful process and it made me feel a sense of accomplishment.

For our first external show Zest Theatre's Camp Phoenix I was a background camper. This was my first work experience as an actor and was such an exciting and joyous experience. This show was quite powerful as you had to relate the characters yourself using inwards reflection and be as authentic in our portrayal so in a way it was necessary to just play ourselves but amplify it so we where distinguishable and unique in our portrayal of our character. Playing myself was enjoyable as I got to capture key moments and learn more about myself in attaining my main objectives as a character. My objectives as this character was to undergo an important journey with the other camp mates and really see what its like to be part of camp phoenix all the while finding yourself and learning important skills and life lessons. Everyone had a unique reason to be there weather it was to win the trophy or to get ready for what lies in adulthood or whatever the circumstances may be our objectives where all unique to ourselves. However our objectives grew with the main character “Zia” watching him come into the camp all reserved and nervous to being confident to jump into adulthood. The overall theme of the show was to capture the feelings and trials and tribulations many teenagers go through when approaching adulthood, the Independence and free will which many dread and some may be excited for. The shows theme captured everyone’s individual experiences and encapsulated, what many teenagers perceive to be adult hood. Also, the theme of the show was to teach life lessons such as working with one another like when we did team challenges to collect our ribbons as well as being there for one another and to never be scared to ask for help. My intend impact on the audience was I aimed to demonstrate the strong connection between my character and fellow camp mates, consistently fostering inclusivity and providing support. This was evident in scenes featuring rope jumping, dances, and prop hunts, where I actively cheered on and stood by my peers. Making sure that we collaborated as a cohesive like family unit. Overall, with such a background role I’m still pleased with how well I met these objectives. My emotional engagement with the audience may have been small, but it played a key factor in being a team. My emotions where very much based on those around me and how we blended well together. Whether it was cheering fellow camp mates on or being annoyed it all blended with one another and showed how where all really going through the same things and blend well with one another. In terms of Vocal performance I didn’t really have any lines So it’s hard to really say anything. However, I did chat among other camp mates at a whisper level so the audience could hear faint speaking but it wasn’t fully audible. I just had to maintain a confident and toned down speaking level as well as making sure it looked as if I was actually talking. Physicality and movement played the very key factor in this performance. In fact, I feel it was one of the most heavy shows containing the most Overall physicality and movement we did a range of dancing choreography's such as jump into adulthood, dodge around the world and the final end dance. This required us to learn them and constantly rehearse and space out our dances many sequences where advanced for me as it was fairly new to me. I utilised my space in these dances by making sure to evenly space ourselves out in rows and making sure to embrace the space around me. Apart from dancing I utilised my space well such as during the prop hunt where we went off to the sides of the audience and handed our flags as well as cheering them on the immersive spacing gave the audience a more inclusive feeling and it brought such a strong magic to the performance. As well as this my interaction with other characters such as camp mates where in groups so where where evenly scattered out. Our blocking was very much improvised and then eventually became implemented we had to place ourselves evenly out but in any fashion to maintain authenticity. All of this enchanted the story telling as if it gave it a more professional feeling and drawer more attention to the performance and was immersive. My contribution to scene dynamics was the most important part.  Working as an ensemble to capture group emotions and understand the base feelings such as when where all on edge in the rope jumping scene or even at the end when it’s very heartfelt and warm. It was still important as working together blended the performance well. Maintaining such a cohesive and harmonious group dynamic made it all so much better and really brought it all out. Costume and props where very simple We had to dress according to how we dress day-to-day, and what is most authentic to us I wore brown tech cargos and a black jumper and a varsity jacket. Seeing such display of different costumes showed the differences of my character. We did have to wear a camp phoenix scarves and a cap. For props I had the prop hunt flags these where already brought for us. The usage of props was important as we got to hand out flags to the audience breaking that fourth wall made it so much more captivating. My strengths for this performance was the fact I embraced the dances so well and really implemented them perfectly and how even tho my character was small. I still had a huge effect and as a group working together, it just blended so well. Additionally, watching the journey and how I portrayed it well and how I changed throughout. The show was so great to see myself grow and it’s definitely made me feel a sense of Joy in seeing how I’ve improved when playing minor roles and still have an impact. However, on the contrary I cut off mesmerised the dance, sequences a bit more better as there were times that I did slip up a bit, but these are more self noticed mistakes. Overall had quite a small bit to play so a lot of it was improvising. Moving forward from this, some personal goals, which have arises for me personally is to not feel intimidated by new things, I may have to encounter such as a dance sequence.

Moving forward to this where heading towards our end I have a show (STUFF) where in the main character “Vinny” the script is amazing and so is my cast collectively we’ve all took time into rehearsals and line learning aswell as playing collaborative games which allow us to bond as the characters and step into there world. Furthermore, I’m so glad to announce that I’ve gotten a main role aswell in a student film the script is still a draft as we plan on giving 100% focus after the show STUFF. I’ll playing Agent P who a very sophisticated and dapper character. Which requires a lot of physical work and action so this is also a matter of being able to be fit and keep up like in the real film industry. I feel so proud in myself. Watching myself from coming in as such a quiet and shy person to flourishing in a place where I got to show my potential and skills and improved so much not only as a actor and performer but as a overall person.
